  9.            Hello to all the owners of the FT-411 OF YAESU,
  10.  
  11.            I have this Hand held, and by playing with it,
  12.            I discovered a nice trick to increase it frequency coverage.
  13.            It is so simple that you don't even have to open your hand held.
  14.            All you have to do is:
  15.  
  16.            1. Make sure that the power switch is off.
  17.            2. press the UP arrow and DOWN arrow together, at the same time
  18.               (those keys are also called A, and B.
  19.                  and they placed at the upper right side of the keyped)
  20.                  3. Keep pressing both buttons and turn the power on.
  21.                      That's all.
  22.                      Now you can receive 130-174Mhz, and transmit 140-150Mhz
  23.                      CAUTON: When you do this modification the memories can be
  24.                      erased.
  25.                      Ayhow I think it is not the end, and there are some more
  26.                      options.

  51.            Hi everybody.
  52.            Here is some new interesting info about the FT-411:
  53.             FT 411 OUT OF BAND MODIFICATIONS.
  54.              ---------------------------------
  55.               1) Open the front cover
  56.  
  57.                2) Locate the C.P.U. unit (it is located on the
  58.                                front cover ).
  59.  
  60.                 3) Locate Jumpers 1,2,3 and 4 , These are the
  61.                                 band setting Jumpers
  62.  
  63.                  4) Jumpers No 1,2 and 4 should be
  64.                                  disconnected ,and Jumper No 3 should
  65.                                      be connected.
  66.  
  67.               5) Close the radio .
  68.  
  69.                6) Apply power to the radio and turn it
  70.                on.
  71.                    The display will initialize with
  72.                    memory No 1 flashing and the
  73.                        frequency display will show
  74.                        1.000
  75.  
  76.                 7) Now , adjust the display to
  77.                 the desired lowest receive
  78.                 frequency
  79.                     When done ,press VFO.
  80.                 The memory CH will now
  81.                 show 2 flashing .

  83.                  8) Adjust the display to the desired highest receive
  84.                  frequency When done press VFO .
  85.                  The memory CH will now show 3 flashing .

  87.                   9) Adjust the display to the desired lowest transmit
  88.                   frequency
  89.                       When done ,press VFO.
  90.                  The memory CH will now show 4 flashing
  91.

  93.                   Now , adjust the display to the desired highest
  94.                   transmit frequency
  95.           When done ,press VFO.
  96.         The rig
  97.          is now set for your programed band on transmit and receive.

  103.         After the rig was programmed to the band and you want to change it
  104.         to
  105.         other ranges you will have to open the rig again and disconnect
  106.         Jumper No 3 then to apply power to the radio ,turn it on again
  107.         open it again ,connect Jumper No 3 back and repeat from steps 5 .
